Brotherhood of the Silver Circlet

The the Brotherhood of the Silver Circlet for a time following the Treaty of Ord Mondu was a ridiculed order of low esteem and value. With Qu'astan espousing the Severed Hand, and to lesser extent Sight, the Silver Circlet exiled itself away from the high centres of power and initially began operating in earnest in the suburbs of Havre. There was little cause or sympathy for altruism in Tor Lindon, and the Silver Circlet gained little notice. As Qu'astan and the Pharoah's Shiars rampaged through Northern Tor Lindon, the populace at large learned to fear magic.... It was not until the rise of Heslon that the Silver Circlet's fortunes changed.
As intimated by the history given above, the initiation of the Brotherhood of the Silver Circlet was bathed in blood and battle. The Brotherhood of the Silver Circlet then is not simply an airy-fairy, altruistic organization, but is one devoted to the use of arcane powers for the protection of those who simply cannot. As such, Sight onlookers would simply say that the Silver Circlet is too bent towards combat and not enough towards pure research.
Perhaps, but the Silver Circlet is not unknown in academic circles and in times of peace will go to great lengths to work amongst the non-arcane using people to teach and to gain greater acceptance.
