Brotherhood of Sight

The Brotherhood of Sight may not have been responsible for the Night of Death, nor did it lose a great number of its members. But the Night of Death restored all fears about the arcane. _____   The Brotherhood of Sight considers itself the purest of the Brotherhoods because it does not allow itself to be distracted in conflicts of morality, or ally itself too closely with nations or leaders that can corrupt their true purpose: to learn about the arcane. A standard contract of trade must iterate on behalf of the Brotherhood that the employed caster may be registered by the Brotherhood, but he or she in no way represents the views of the Brotherhood in whatever matter is at hand.   Indeed, higher powered casters are monitored closely in their affairs to ensure that they do not reflect upon the Brotherhood of Sight's reputation for neutrality. It is not unheard of for the Brotherhood of Sight to bring in one of their own and discipline them because they have too closely aligned themselves with a particular group or cause which potentially risks the Brotherhood's reputation.   Casters wishing to be left to their own designs and not be caught up in the inter-Brotherhood squabbling that has consumed the others, nor the frequent wars that engulf nations and peoples, seek to be part of the Brotherhood of Sight. This Brotherhood also attracts the attention of, and has begun many, Academies whose sole purpose is finding out not only about arcane matters, but also about the world at large.   Casters can join the Brotherhood of Sight at a very basic level. Because they are not affiliated with a great power, the dues for the Brotherhood of Sight are substantially more than the other two Brotherhoods. But for some casters, that is the price of being left alone.   Sorcerers in the Brotherhood of Sight are generally left alone until they reach levels 7-9. Typically, they are regarded as the poor cousins and disliked, but when they reach level 9 further access to training is based on what the sorcerer has brought to the Brotherhood...lately. Magical items, knowledge and artifacts are viewed highly and opens the door to continued unimpeded training. casters can expect their MONTHLY dues to be the equivalent of 5gp at level one, 10gp at level 2, 20gp at level 3, 35gp at level 4, 55gp at level 5 and so on.     The Brotherhood of Sight does not have 'elite' casters like the other two. Rather, it makes the broadest group of feats, spells and schools available to their members...something that the other two Brotherhoods simply cannot claim. It does not care about the 'morality' of necromantic spells, so members of the Brotherhood of Sight can specialize without concern. Similarly, all 'other' schools mentioned in the APH are available to members of the Brotherhood of Sight...again, a boon not available to the other two Brotherhoods.
