The Queen of The Fae

Requirements
The Queen of the Fae must always be of the part of the Fair Folk species, specifically a Seelie or Unseelie Fae. They are typically the direct descendant of the previous ruler.
Duties
The Queen is bound to look after her people and all members of her Realm. This includes every Fae who resides within the Otherworld, the plant life, the bugs, and all other sentient life within the Realm. She must also keep both the Seelie and Unseelie Courts in order and ensure that neither Court causes trouble that may result in interspecies war or otherwise disturb the peace treaties that the Fae currently hold with all other species. The Queen is the only thing standing between the Mortal Realm and the chaos that the Unseelie Court wishes to unleash on them.
Technically, the Ruler of the Fae is meant to have control over the Nymphs. However, despite Nymphs being descendants of the Fae species, the nature spirits do not get on with the other Fae and refuse to even be called Fae themselves, let alone be commanded by one.
Responsibilities
The Queen must settle any and all major disputes which arise between her people. This can often take weeks or even months, as the Fae are immortal and well known to be formidable when it comes to arguing.
Benefits
The Fae Queen is in one of the highest positions of power within the Realms. People are well aware of the Fae's reputation and do not wish to do anything which may call the Queen's wrath down upon them.
History
The Queen aided greatly during the purging of Dark Creatures from the Mortal and Immortal Realms and was instrumental in sending them into the Netherworld. She also banned any member of the Unseelie Court from entering the Mortal Realm after an Unseelie Fae murdered too many Humans.
