Koppla Av (KOHP-luh -AHV)

This massive, awe-inspiring network of crystal-lined caves is filled with the sound of ethereal singing that brings a calm and peaceful state to the mind. Many businesses claiming self-care or restorative properties make their homes here, and it does serve them well - healing magic seems ampllified here, as do natural remedies and ancestral practices. The rich and beautiful flock to Koppla Av to keep themselves rich and beautiful, paying exorbitant prices for the privilege of being wrapped in astral kelp, covered in mud from the Everlasting Grove, and massaged with hot stones from the River Weise.
While the fees may be out of reach for many, those who do can pay may eventually find the cost is higher than they bargained for: each visit, one memory is left behind as tribute for the singing crystals...and there's no rhyme or reason to which it shall be. It might be the address of your childhood home, the color of your best friend's eyes, the name of your favorite restaurant or the existence of your spouse. Though mostly it's incosequential things, so much so that the true nature of Koppla Ave isn't widely known. Only those who actually reside in the district are aware, or at least those who haven't been there for too long.
There are families who have lived here for generations, who have forgotten the truth of their situation over and over again, their memories stripped to nothing but the soft healing song of the crystals. Most of them make their living canvassing for the businesses here, and you can find them a dime a dozen across the wide-mouthed entrance to the district. You can recognize them by their speech - all they can say is "Koppla Koppla! Koppla Koppla!"

Important Locations

The Spa of Saphir - This chain of wellness boutiques has no connection to the Elemental Lord of Earth, it's simply Her mythos being invoked for dramatic flair. There are several of them throughout Koppla Ave, each equidistant from the entrance to the district, but fanning out so any direction a visitor travels, they will come upon one. The chain is run by a huge family of fairys that lives just outside Koppla Av, far enough from its influence that they retain enough of their memories and speech to run the businesses, and pretty much nothing else. The multiple teenaged members of the family are employed as "guides," otherwise known as customer recruitment, and they are particularly successful due to their comparatively eloquent nature next to the other recruiters that gather to entice visitors to their establishments.   The Blessing Pools - At the deepest levels of the caves, there is a collection of small glowing caverns filled with a few feet of water. Some seek them out to bathe in, believing them to be good luck. Others avoid them like the plague, due to rumors of all kinds surrounding the pools. One says that there's a sea serpent that uses the caves like crabpots, harvesting whatever they find inside. Another says a curse is laid upon all who dare desecrate the mystical pools with their mortal flesh. A third says they're all filled with the piss of everyone who's come before (this one is likely true to some degree). Whatever you believe, there's only one way to find out for sure.
