Elemental Fire Spire

The Elemental Spire of Fire

The Elemental Fire Spire, ruled by their grace Elio Rhys, the Elemental Noble of Fire. A Citadel attached to the main crystal of the Central Spire and licking out like a flame, its main purpose is to house the court of the Elemental Fire.   Entering into the realm is easier here than in the other elemental spires, as the Noble Rhys is infamous for cultivating the most talented artists in the city and throwing raucous parties in their Temple of Passions.   Between the entrance and the temple are stories and stories of open terraces held aloft by sweeping arches and hung with warm-toned fabrics that sway in the warm thick breeze. Currents of alternating heat carry feather-light platforms up and down the levels, passing sumptuous residences and vibrant markets of arts and wares. Many of these locations employ guards or discreetly-muscled butlers to waylay citizens who may be tempted to disembark on the wrong balcony.   The homes of the more highly-stationed nobles are situated more closely to the glowing core of the spire, while sellers of goods prize the outer layers for its proximity to the rising and falling air traffic.   Their Grace is temperamental, fickle with their lovers and favorites, so their court more than any other is a rotating door of striking courtiers that catch their fancy for a brief but passionate moment.

Important Locations

The Incadescent Hearth: At its base where it connects to the Central Spire lies the gargantuan belly that serves many important purposes for the city. First, it burns their trash - the incinerator, also known as the Pit, is at the lowest level, also sometimes used for the more nefarious task of disappearing evidence. Second, it heats all of the spires - the furnaces reside on the topmost layer, where the cleanest energy can take the shortest routes to inhabitants of the spire and sending mazes of pipes into the greater city. And third, it operates as a religious center where citizens may release material burdens or painful memories to the keeping of Their Grace Above. This is the center tier, the one located on the same level as the entrance to the Spire, where visitors can enter and exits with the least impact. This level is decorated beautifully, with tile mosaics in the floors and brasiers tucked into semi-private altars along the walls.   The Collective: Approximately halfway up the Spire, several levels are dedicated to artists, artisans, craftspeople, performers, and creative types of every persuasion. Their Grace is generous with their patronage of the arts, and anything and anyone that catches their eye is bound to be relocated to this "haven." While the most exquisite and groundbreaking work is generated by the individuals and collaboratives that reside in these halls, and the high classes garner invites to the Spire just to browse the studios, art pieces, and stages, those who produce these works must always be on edge, for if they fail to please Their Grace, their patronage could quickly morph into displeasure and exile.   The Temple of Passions: The castle of the Spire of Fire is less a seat of power and more a location for drunkenness and debauchery. Even when Their Grace is out among the city, the castle never rests. The elite and up-and-coming mingle for hours or days in blissful states of ecstasy, indulging all their senses and engaging in increasingly salacious behavior as the bacchanalias rage on. The open courtyards sport hanging censors of intoxicating incense and layers of rugs topped by hookahs and floor pillows. Myriad nooks and chambers offer comfortable and sensual corners for lovemaking or circumspect politicking, and musicians are spread strategically across the property to enhance the mood.
