Vepsoun is sorrounded by thick modern city walls since the city has been expanding rather rapidly over the last few generations. After the outer walls come the inner walls which are much weaker and older though still kept in good shape and capable of keeping any intruders out of the inner ring of the city. Approximately in the middle of the city is a castle which offers a last resort for any defenders. If pushed back to that point the defenders might have enough time to defend to broker a deal or let the noble families flee.Manpower:
At peacetime the Duke of Ursanos would hold his entire trained forces in Vepsoun usually consisting of around 800-1000 trained soldiers. Additonally the city guard consists of around 50-60 guards. Vepsoun is thanks to the prevalence of the Hunter's Guild there are fairly many adventurers and mercenaries passing through or staying in Vepsoun that could be recruited.Defensive Structures:
On the outer wall of Vepsoun there are ballistas and stationary crossbows staitioned spread out over it. Smaller Catapults are stationed at key locations on the walls. The gates of the outer walls are beneath holes through which the defenders could drop heavy rocks, hot oil or rain down with arrow fire. The walls of Vepsoun are sealed with magic dispelling runes making it impossible for spells under level 5 to affect it and still rather difficult for spells at level 6 or higher to have an effect on the walls.Industry & Trade
Vepsoun has a big fishing and shipbuilding industry. It's port is the biggest of Reilence Kingdom and the second biggest of all of Tirestal just second to the ports of Porofre. The shipbuilding industry of Vepsoun mainly supports the Royal Reilence Navy. One of the proudest Navies of all of Tirestal. Day after day military ships are being built, repaired or dismantled to make space for newer better ships. The fishing industry doesn't fall too short though either. Smaller fishing companies thrive in Vepsoun and trade their goods all over the Kingdom of Reilence.
Aside from ships and fishing Vepsoun and the sorrounding areas also produce a fair share of salt, wood, wine, olives, and cloth.
Guilds and Factions
The Hunter's Guild is very prominent in Vepsoun. Therefore the city is visited and sometimes even inhabited by many adventurers and mercenaries looking to earn a bit of money and fame.
