Vasondaral

The Bowman, Protector of the Wild

Vasondaral is the patron deity of the wild elves and of hunting. However, his hunting is very much different from that of Kroven. Where Kroven hunts for the pleasure of killing only, Vasondaral only does so to retain the balance in nature and to stop evil-doers, particularly the Drow. Although all elven deities are closely connected to nature, the only deity more at home in the forests than Vasondaral is his sister Foraoise.
Vasondaral is a patient and relatively silent deity. He is most at home in the forests, surrounded only by nature but is not averse to civilization. His biggest problems with civilization is that it is destructive towards nature and that it turns people weak. Although he is reluctant to give his word, he always sticks to his promises and is loyal to his friends and allies. Vasondaral's church is very loosely coordinated and mostly constists of disparate groups of clerics who sometimes come together to honor their deity. His clerics teach people how to survive out in the wilds and often function as scouts in Elven armies.

Vasondaral's clerics are taught to survive in the wild themselves and are expected to pass on this knowledge. They should only kill when they need to, to retain the balance in nature and to destroy evil that would threaten nature. Independency is a big theme in his church and a cleric has to survive a month outdoors without help.

Contacts & Relations

Vasondaral has good contacts with the rest of the Ellesentiri and is one of the few deities Alleren frequently has contact with. He likes being in the company of the other sylvan and nature deities.
His worst enemies are those deities who wish only to destroy nature. Besides the drow pantheon, Kroven has garnered Vasondaral's eternal enmity with his endless hunts.
