Dwarvish

Also known as Dwarven or Dvarek (the latter generally used by non-speakers to describe the runic alphabet), it refers to the official language spoken by the dwarves.

Writing System

Dwarvish uses a runic alphabet known as Dvarek, but, unlike the other written languages of the civilized realms is rarely inscribed onto parchment, rather it is chiseled onto weapons, armor, and monuments.

Notes

  • Dwarvish is heavily inspired by a mix of Germanic (including elements of Old High German) and Scottish Gaelic, along with some words of my own invention.
