Gaoan Brotherhood

Structure

The Brotherhood has a similar set of strict hierarchies that mirror that of the Disciples. In fact, many of the Brotherhood are also leaders within the Disciples of Goa organization. They have a single leader who has founded the movement, Brother Torring. He directs the various "squads" of brothers towards various tasks and coordinates between groups.

Culture

The Brotherhood believe that purity of faith and order are essential for the return of the world that was. As such, there is little tolerance for failure or deviation within the organization. They pride themselves on unity of vision and ideas.

Public Agenda

Their public agenda is to convert everyone into believers of Gao. They believe that the reason Gao has not restored order to the world is because there is not unity of faith in Gao. Once only pure believers remain, Gao will be able to rid the Borderlands and Wastes of the influence and evil of Chog once and for all, allowing the natural prosperity of Piromere to spread around the globe. With the recent destabilization of the natural order with more variable weather patterns, more magically abled children and adults, and more people catching sun sickness, they believe that it is vital now more than ever to weed out non-believers and convert as many as possible to the strictest version of the faith, for only then can they be cleansed of Chog.

Assets

The Brotherhood doesn't have as many assets as the main branch of the Disciples. However, they receive secret support from the Disciples to continue their work as well as other religiously adamant patrons. The members of the brotherhood often do not come with their own resources into the sect, though there are a few notable exceptions.

History

The group is fairly new, the past generation or so, and has been a response to the relaxing and favorable relationships with the Borderlands and the Wastes. The increased trade with the Numab and travel beyond Piromere is seen as an avenue for Chog's corruption from the outer lands to slip past the Shield and Shield Mounts and enter Piromere.

Tenets of Faith

They believe that purity of ideals, faith, body, and soul give a person strength. The more people who share this purity of being, the stronger the organization as a whole. Thus the only way to have a strong Piromere is to have a devoutly pure populace.   They also believe in unity. While they do have a strong hierarchical organization similar to the Disciples, they do not engage in the same pomp and circumstance. Uniforms are fairly similar between ranks as are titles. The main thing the hierarchy does is prescribe roles and responsibilities and takes out of account any arguments over authority.

Ethics

Because they believe they are in a battle for the soul of the world, any methods justify the means. They see no issues with separating children from "undeserving" families and raising them as wards in more devout households. They see no issues with poisoning wells of those who actively resist them and their work. They see no issues with executing those who have failed to be reeducated or who fail to accept Gao as their one god.

Political Influence & Intrigue

While still a fringe and radical group, they are beginning to pick up popularity in some circles within Piromere. These either are those in power who are hungry for more and see the Brotherhood as a means to take down and seize wealth from others. Or those with little power who bear the brunt of the worst of these recent changes. Their message appeals to these workers because it's not their fault their conditions are terrible, but their neighbor's fault for not believing hard enough in Gao.
