Personal history

Captain Piero Pipes began his whaling career as a young sailor on a fishing vessel which operated in the Sea of Tempes off the coast of Porto Marina. It is here where his bitter hatred towards crab-kind began. In 723 the ship he worked on was destroyed by the sea monster Gamberus, a monstrous crab native to the area.
Piero survived the attack which killed many of his friends. Piero then enlisted in the tempestan navy for a short time, but the Cog that he was assigned to was also destroyed by the crab monster Gamberus.
Embittered, Piero raised a crew of death defying whalers to seek out and destroy the crab. This too was destroyed, with Piero the sole survivor.
Piero gambled his way into ownership of a new whaling ship and raised a crew. They whaled up and down the Sea of Tempes for years, improving their skills and ship in anticipation of a final battle with Gamberus.
Gamberus came in 771 to Porto Marina while Captain Piero Pipes and his vessel, "The Honored Dead", were in port. His ship was picked up by Gamberus, who had been mutated by Dark Sea corruption and was significantly more powerful. Gamberus launched the ship into the far away Church of Tempes, destroying it. Piero survived by leaping overboard.
