Public Agenda

The organistaion's main purpose initially was to protect Catholic pilgrims and Catholicism in Ilandia.  Over time, as the Archdiocese of Alusia became a territorial state, it started to Christianize the infidels and to expand the country.
The Order mainly was the military force of the country from that point.

Assets

At the height of their power, in 1318, the Order of the Knights of Alusia controlled 21,760 square miles, 1,324 farms, 32 castles, 129 fortifications, 8 entire cities, 155 villages. 
Their military consisted of 43,900 foot soldiers and 941 knights.

History

The organistaion's main purpose initially was to protect Catholic pilgrims and Catholicism in Ilandia. Over time, as the Archdiocese of Alusia became a territorial state, it started to Christianize the infidels and to expand the country. By the 1350s the Kingdom of Ilandia started provoking the Archdiocese of Alusia, which led to the Gedfried War between Ilandia and the archdioceses of Alusia and Torreal. After this war Alusia and Torreal became de-facto puppets of Ilandia.
During the 1300s and 1400s the Archdioceses constantly resisted Ilandian rule, resulting in short periods of independence.
In 1462 Ilandia annexed Torreal and became more prominent in Alusian politics.
In 1715 the Archbishop of Alusia collaborated with the (non-Christian) Maxeans against Ilandia, which led to a civil war in Alusia between pro-Ilandians and pro-Maxeans. By 1720 the pro-Maxeans had won and invaded large parts of Ilandia together with the Maxeans, of which they became a tributionary state.
The Holy Order of Alusia was very influential from 1720 until 1785, but was weakened by the recent civil war.
In 1798 the Kingdom of Ilandia declared itself independent from the Maxeans and the Holy Order suffered badly.
In 1810 the Bitons invaded Ilandia and occupied modern-day North Ilandia, which also includes Alusia. They prosecuted the Order of Ilandia, which only kept existing in the new West Ilandian Republic.
In 1852 the last Knight of the Order of Alusia died and the order was dissolved.

Disbandment

The military force was driven away from their lands by the Bitons in 1811.
From that point the organisation was in no state to recruit more men and slowly died.
