Appointment
The archbishop is always appointed by the High Council of Ilandian Dioceses, by election.
Duties
- defending the souvereignty of Alusia
- keeping Alusia safe for pilgrims
- defending papacy and Christianity
- christianizing every infidel
Accoutrements & Equipment
The archbishop can reside in the Holy Palace of Alusia and also gets to exploit enormous plots of land.
These are not hereditary.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
If the pope discommunicates the archbishop he will automatically lose his title and authority, as well as getting imprisoned for crimes against Catholicism.
Cultural Significance
The Bevisians saw the existence of the Archdiocese of Alusia as a sign of oppression and did anything to end it in the past.
(North) Ilandians however saw it as their god-given Catholic right to have the Archbishop of Alusia defend Christianity.
