Ignorance vs. Truth

The main conflict in this world is the battle that rages between The People, the main populous of this world who are ruled by the hand of The Council, an organization that has complete control and knowledge of what The People do and know, and The Risen, a small group of people who have realized that The Council has been brainwashing the entire populous in order to ensure their lasting control (further details in "The People" and "The Risen").
The Risen wish to free The People from the control of The Council, but find it hard to do anything because The Council has eyes and ears everywhere, both physical and digital, and Safety Officers patrol all throughout the cities of The Union, which is the name that The Council gave their country. Thus The Risen must hide in the outskirts of the cities and sometimes even outside of the Spheres which control the weather inside them and protect the cities from natural disasters. They have been doing their best for the past few decades to gather more people, showing them the false life that The Council has created for them, as well as stockpiling arms and any droids they can get their hands on. They do not intend to attack the cities directly, though some among them would like to do so. Instead they infiltrate into the lower levels of The Council to gather information and steal what supplies they can. Some people live in the cities to retain their cover, others, wishing to never again live among The Dead, as they call The People, live in what bases of operation that The Risen can either find or construct (more often than not they find a place and build in and around it to make it livable). The Risen have bases in almost every city, fifteen out of the eighteen there are, though they have not been able to establish any kind of base in the capital city of Unity.

The main conflict is therefore between The Risen and The Council, both of which have been described in greater detail in other parts of "The Union". The Risen seek to free The Dead (The People) from the influence of The Council, and thus overthrowing The Council and freeing all from the fear of being punished for not obeying The Council. The Risen do encounter other problems which they must face in order to protect The People, even if they do not know it. Recently, for instance, they have encountered an Intelligence they call The Twisted One which has been taking control of people and making them do things that either harm those around them or allow it to gain greater access to the network that helps run all the cities of The Union, including Unity. This is a problem they must combat, for if The Twisted One were to take control of The Council, there would be no knowing what horrible things it would do. The Risen must protect The People from this and other dangers that arise, which they see as their duty, having risen out of that same life to the Truth, while at the same time trying to get one step closer to overthrowing The Council.
