Mental
- Personal History: Born in Gewood while her parents were travelling, Faylen was given the Gewood clan name even though she would never see Gewood again. Although the youngest of children in her home city of Gulonde, Faylen was always more mature and would think through her responses before giving them. She never got into fights with the other children and all the adults loved her, though none more than her own parents. Once she turned 20, her mother taught her the healing potions and salves that the elves used, as well as the ingredients for each and where to find them. After her final lesson, Faylen and her mother were out gathering ingredients for the health stores. Faylen had gone up a tree to try finding some Bay Tickleweed when she heard her mother scream. Looking down from her hiding spot, she watched in horror as rogue human soldiers raped her mother to death.
Too scared to come down, Faylen stayed in the tree until the next day when Thydune of Celestial Forest found her and convinced her she would be safe. Depressed over the loss of her mother, Faylen stayed in the castle as much as she could, even refusing to attend the pyre. Thydune and her father were the only ones that she would allow near her for comfort. As the elves travelled from Gulonde to Twilight Woods, Faylen revealed to Thydune that she felt guilty for not going to her mother's aid and denying her elven instincts. Although it took nearly the whole trip, Thydune convinced Faylen that she wouldn't have been able to help her mother since she didn't know how to fight and would've met the same fate had she tried. After a couple nights in Twilight Woods, Faylen managed to convince Thydune to teach her how to wield a sword. Her father caught the lesson in progress, but gave Faylen permission to learn after sensing her desire for the knowledge. After two months of lessons, the commanders saw her training with Thydune and took over her instruction, giving her a second sword after another two months. This action ultimately created the first dual swordsman Inyarel had seen and impressed her father so much that he named her the battle strategist and General of the elven troops.

- Morality & Philosophy: Faylen of Gewood has very high morals, even higher than some of her fellow elves. Since losing her mother, her father and the war have never been able to sway her from doing what is right, regardless of the consequences. While these high morals are good when dealing with elves, they occasionally cause trouble when trusting and dealing with humans.
