Eldau River

The Eldau is a major north-flowing river in northeastern Alamar, and it is the undisputed longest river in the The Terrable. It collects water from the high precipitation zones at the windward sides of the Hochkrete Ridge. It's always been a lifeline for the area, the periodic floodings have given the Ginderlände a very fertile and wet soil.
The Eldau formed most of the northern inland frontier of the early Alamaran Kingdoms, seperating them from the Ginderlände. Since those days, the Eldau has been a vital navigable waterway carrying trade and goods deep inland. Its importance as a waterway in the The Former Allamaran Empire is supported by the many castles and fortifications built along it. Mostly build to protect the posterior lands against threats from the North.
The river ends in a large delta and flows into the Lake Jorakk.
