  When asked how many places, creatures and cultures there are in Nostgard , the famed trailblazer Flóki Vilgerðarson answered with characteristic aplomb:  

“All of them.”

  No book could possibly catalogue everything everywhere, but this tome is the most comprehensive volume to date; the greatest resource on life on Nostgard ever attempted by any scholar. This is not just another Atlas, but the Atlas. The Terrable.   The Terrable is not just a book, it is the world. It is all that has been seen, heard, smelled, tasted and felt. It is all there is to it. Outside the Terrable there is only The Dim.   The Terrable was written as a cure for people who suffer from doubt. Flóki encountered it many times when spoke about what he had seen during his travels. Doubt and disbelieve are a terrible and highly contagious disease, thus it is best treated with the collective suspension of disbelief.   A most efficacious medicament to disbelieve is visualisation. Especially maps. Flóki considered maps to be like campfires. People can gather around them and get a shared understanding by telling each other their best stories.   So if the content of this tome doesn't help...
