Session Two - One More Ingredient

General Summary

The Plan

The crew has decided to go all in on a special concoction that Silo has been working up. To finish his work, the crew would like to strike out at one of their competitors, The Dimmer Sisters.   Hix Holtz heads to the Six Towers district in hopes of finding an apothecary who can provide some details about the supplier that the Dimmer Sisters are using. After a bit of searching he finds an apothecary who is willing to share not only her soft hands, but some information about the supplier. The woman, Gentle William, reveals that the Sisters deliver the finished product to her from a manufacturer in Silkshore known as the "Smokehouse".   Garrus does a bit of sleuthing and research and discovers that the Smokehouse operates a front as a furniture warehouse. He decides that the best approach would be through a side entrance in a darkened ally that leads directly to the warehouse's office.   The crew approach the warehouse near midnight and are able to enter the office with ease. After doing a thorough search of the building they discover a large metal door leading down to a subfloor below the building. Garrus recognizes the make of the lock of that of his rival, Frake (sp?), and is able to easily disarm the system and open the door. Once the door is open there are voices from below. A woman approaches the bottom of the stairs asking about a shift change. Garrus and Silo duck and hide while Hix attempts to convince the woman that she is there to relieve her of her duties and take over the watch. The guard does not accept this response and another guard appears and restrains Hix. The two begin questioning Hix about her intentions, while Garrus jumps out and knocks one of the guards unconscious. Silo is quick to follow and smashes a vial of sleep powder in the other guards face.   With the guards taken care of, they begin searching what they discover is a laboratory beneath the warehouse. There are various alchemical reagents, and some finished products that Hix recognizes from the shop. Silo begins trying to decipher some of their notes about in-flight projects, while Hix discovers large vats in the corner of the room, one of which contains a ghostly visage. Hix puts his hand on the glass and is met with a hand from the other side. Hix discovers that this is the spirit of famed actress Sethla Rowan. She had gone missing several months ago, and tells Hix that the alchemists working here are not only harvesting other spirits for their projects, but have special plans for her particular spirit. Silo seems interested in possibly turning Sethla into essence himself, but Hix quickly pulls out his palm pistol and shoots the vat. The glass shatters and the spirit quickly rises into the air and dissipates.  
  Garrus insists that they are running short on time and so the crew grab what they can and begin leaving. As they leave they hear guards entering through the office. Silo ignites a smoke bomb and the crew escapes through the front door. Each member of the crew takes their own escape route and they eventually meet back at the lair.
