The Sisters of the Vine
The Sisters of the Vine is a loose organisation of nature worshippers, united by the kinship of faith. The members are mainly druids, though rangers, clerics, and appropriately dedicated paladins and warlocks are also welcomed. Formed nearly 5000 years ago, The Sisters of the Vine was formed to abate rising tension between worshippers of the many competing nature gods and spirits in The Forest. By forming a group aimed at sharing knowledge, and promoting respect for nature to those outside the faith, the organisation managed to build bonds of cooperation and friendship between the previously opposing factions.
Structure
The Sisters of the Vine don't exactly subscribe to strict hierarchies, instead preferring to flow through loose roles within the organisation depending on their place in life at the time. "Groundskeepers" take root in The Sisters places of communal living, maintaining the surrounding lands and building resources, while "Sparrows" travel between settlements to spread word and see to their own affairs. New members are known as "Seedlings", and are often encouraged to seek mentorship within the order to further their craft and learn the traditions and rituals expected of a fully fledged member.
Public Agenda
When asked, The Sisters of the Vine describe themsleves as a likeminded social collective, interested in the sharing of ideas and knowledge, the growing of community bonds, and the worship of natural divinity.
Agriculture & Industry
Due to the wide variety of gods and spirits worshipped by The Sisters, there are very few commonalities in what members do with the results of their devotion. Many of the order's meeting places are surrounded by cultivated land, whether agricultural or simply well-tended wildlands, that produce a bounty of edible and medicinal plants. Some Groundskeepers sell these in local towns, share them with the local community, or preserve them for future gatherings. Some even return the gifts to nature, using them to feed wild animals, or replanting them in areas in which they have grown sparse.
Due to their skills and blessings with nature magic, many members of The Sisters of the Vine are relatively self-sufficient, and can get what other goods they need by trading their excess.
Education
While The Sisters are primarily a social-focused organisation, this networking often results in the establishment of apprenticeship, and the sharing of research with fellow interested members in an informal manner.
