Lungka, the Wreath of Far Eyes

Lungka, the Wreath of Far Eyes, is a headpiece made of intricate gold wire and speckled pearls pulled from the Witch's Bay. The wire makes two rings - one that rest on the crown of the wearers head and one that rests on their shoulders - and a lattice that connects the two, much like a cage surrounding the wearer's head. The pearls are set somewhat randomly around the head piece.   When worn by a normal person, it grants enhanced vision and the ability to see through all of the pearls set within the head piece, giving the wearer a 360 degree field of view. However, when worn by a representative of Bamalion, the God of Knowledge, its effects are significantly increased. A representative is capable of enhancing the effective range of the crown, as if projecting its physical form elsewhere.   The strength of this effect depends on the strength of the representative's connection to Bamalion. For instance, Tirelian the Scholar - one of the Five Heroes and the first representative of Bamalion - was the first person to wield Lungka and he could use it to have full vision of everything within 1000 feet of himself or he could project his vision to a location that he was familiar with within 100 miles.   This power is not known to have an upper limit. The 7th and most powerful representative, Mungi, infamously never found a limitation inherent to Lungka, as she was capable of viewing any location that she was intimately familiar with up to ~2000 miles away. However, that number was based on the limitations of her knowledge of the world rather than an aspect of Lungka.   It is one of the few artifacts originally created by Shilaieth the Smith that is still accounted for and is the only one that still sees regular use, while most of the others are kept in storage or are used for ceremonial purposes.

Significance

Among his most well known creations, Shilaieth famously created a tool for each of the other Five Heroes, and Lungka is among them. Lungka was created by Shilaieth the Smith roughly a decade after the the founding of Lukrar at the behest of Tirelian the Scholar who wanted a tool to help monitor the borders of the town and make more accurate accounts of the battles being waged against the Underdwellers by Zhurhan the Knight.   It is kept in the Grand Palace in Lukrar, the capital of Shindus, and is almost exclusively used by the representative of Bamalion. Because of it's history and importance for the security and management of the nation, Lungka is generally well recognized because of its association with the representative of Bamalion even though its specific purpose and function are not widely known. It is generally assumed to be ornamental or symbolic by the general populace.
