Temporal Magic

The Mage Ajid of the Alkeemian empire discovered ways of manipulating time with magic. Ajid's discovery's helped the Alkeemian empire acquire wealth and power far beyond what was common at the time. However, temporal manipulation proved to be a dangerous form of magic, something that was only slightly researched. The Akeemian empire fell, and only relics and forgotten tomes carried the ability's of this unstable magic into the current era.

Utility

Temporal magic ranges from simple spells that allow for the brief storing of spells, to complex spells that create pauses in time, all the way to utterly unstable spells that create portals in time.

Access & Availability

Temporal Magic is barely known, a secret only understood by figures who are themselves temporal anomalies, or through the use of long lost tomes and artifacts. Temporal Magic is essentially a myth, most have never heard of it, and those who have believe it doesn't exist. Of the very few who have heard of Temporal Magic, most only know of it through the campaign exercised by Dawndoor to discover the dangerous side effects of temporal magic, and to see how it may have already negatively effected the world.

Complexity

Simple temporal manipulation spells are relatively stable. However, more powerful temporal manipulations are vastly unstable than most forms of spells. The instability in temporal manipulation sometimes results in permanent effects in the world, such as the temporal walls that have sprung into existence throughout the world. Other spells require specially made artifacts to channel the magical energy in order to even cast the spell.

Discovery

How Ajid discovered Temporal Magic is unknown. Some say it was through the strange whisperings of an evil god of magic. However, the active research of Temporal Magic's negative effects is currently being spearheaded by Dawndoor aided with a band of adventurers and Eldritch Eye Ugalas Forcethought.
