The Red Woods

The Red Woods are named as such because this is where any Hobgoblins not affiliated with any of the three strongholds dwell. Their number has increased exponentially over the years, so that, when amassed, their red skin makes the whole forest seem to assume a shade of crimson. This is also where any disgraced Hobgoblins within the strongholds are exiled, banishing them from the order and structure of society they have become accustomed to, perhaps the ultimate punishment for such lawfully inclined creatures. Every year, a combined band of Drow warriors from each stronghold is sent into The Red Woods, armed to the teeth and often accompanied by Hobgoblin soldiers, whose main role is to provide fodder for any resistance they encounter.
