Early Life
Vlad Odenmeyer was born into the wealthy and prominent Odenmeyer family in Germany. Renowned for their prestigious line of cookies and esteemed for their philanthropy in high society. At a young age, Vlad's mother passed away from cancer, and his father, preoccupied with business, was unable to fulfill the role of a true father figure. Instead, Vlad was raised and educated by a team of nannies and private tutors, preparing him to inherit the family business when he came of age. This tradition had been passed down through generations of Odenmeyers and their eldest children. Throughout his childhood and teenage years, Vlad underwent a rigorous education, leaving little time for anything else. As he grew older, he developed a disdain for his predetermined path and secretly sought thrills through activities like skydiving, bungee jumping, and ice climbing. He craved excitement and adrenaline. Unfortunately, his father eventually discovered his hidden pursuits, leading to a heated argument. Vlad, tired of the control in his life, confronted his father, resulting in the latter's sudden death from a heart attack during the altercation. Vlad, not particularly distraught over his father's passing, graduated college with top honors and assumed control of the Odenmeyer empire as planned. Upon arriving in the U.S., Vlad embraced his thrill-seeking lifestyle without any constraints, traveling from place to place on his beloved motorcycle, affectionately named "Merry Legs." For several years, Vlad wandered aimlessly, lacking direction in his life, until a fateful encounter with Casey Cameron at a small bar in San Francisco. Casey was fleeing from an actual monster sent by the Offspring, the son of the ancient demon Memoc known as Raymond Teth, or Raahomn Tethlonis. As they escaped the bar together, their lives were saved by a group known as the Benefactors.Benefactors Protege
Joining the Benefactors completely transformed Vlad's life overnight. He was taken under the wing of the leader and sorcerer, Richardson, who recognized Vlad's inherent magical affinity. Under Richardson's guidance, Vlad began training to become a powerful sorcerer himself. Richardson became not only Vlad's mentor but also a father figure he had never had. He formed strong bonds with Casey, Zen, and many others within the secretive organization. Together, they faced and triumphed over numerous supernatural challenges and threats. With each passing year, Vlad's knowledge and unwavering determination made him stronger and more formidable. However, Vlad's life took another drastic turn when Richardson was magically poisoned and killed by the Rising Sun, igniting a brutal conflict between the two organizations. With his dying wish, Richardson appointed Vlad as the leader of the Benefactors. Devastated by the loss of his mentor, Vlad now found himself responsible for the lives of many, as their destinies intertwined with his decisions during a secret war with potentially world-altering consequences. Despite his thirst for revenge, Vlad suppressed his anger and guided the organization forward. Another significant change occurred when Alina, the leader of a separatist Rising Sun group seeking peace, approached Vlad, seeking asylum. After uniting the Rising Sun and the Benefactors and successfully keeping supernatural threats at bay, Vlad felt a growing emptiness within himself. A deep dread lingered, reminding him that no matter how powerful or capable he had become, there would come a time when he might not be able to ensure the safety of the world, his friends, and his family. This realization consumed him, and Vlad became obsessed with gaining more and more power and expanding his magical and arcane knowledge.The Karsus
Gradually, he distanced himself from his family and friends, eventually leaving the Benefactors behind altogether. He entrusted his protege Tyrion with the leadership and embarked on a journey across the globe in search of hidden wellsprings, remnants of ancient magic waiting to be tapped into by those skilled enough. Unbeknownst to him, his actions not only weakened the barrier between the mortal world and the supernatural realm but also drew the attention of the Karsus, a powerful dragon-like entity that fed on the magic of these wellsprings. As the Karsus made its way to Earth, consuming the remaining wellsprings and leaving destruction in its wake, Vlad realized the consequences of his actions. Filled with remorse, he returned to the Benefactors, reuniting with his old friends and allies. Together, they confronted and ultimately defeated the Karsus in a fierce battle. Haunted by the weight of his power and the havoc that it could wreak upon the world, Vlad made a solemn decision. He bid farewell to his friends and departed from our realm, believing that the immense power he had acquired posed the greatest threat to Earth of all.
