Dane was just another anonymous soldier in the armies of Steille, taken on the expedition for his size and seemingly imperturbable manner. During his several years at Sigrun he, as others fell, held firm against all challenges - in silence his legend grew, that he was sent by the fathers, that he had made a deal with the devils of the flame... no matter what the reason he became a symbol of Sigrun's resilience. His defeat of the Sand Devil's King is a legendary feat. Dane seems different, deflated in personality and spirit. He rarely wields his weapon or bares arms any more. Fabia Ludus stabbed him when she met him after returning from being captured, she claimed he was "One of Them" Dane has recovered from the Dream Plague and is now working with Fabia Ludus and Eckard of Louse to journey to the Swamps to look for Freya Sjelkal and Bors Haimen
