Icorov

Icorov is a Tyton colony world located deep in the galactic east, and is widely considered to be the planet with the most variety of life in the galaxy.
When originally settled by the Oriee family, Icorov was completely barren and devoid of almost any life. The Oriees, being environmental purists, planned to vitalize the planet into a haven for unique and rare species of plant. They faced much backlash from various other environmental groups, including some from outside the Tyton Empire. Many Human and Ennean environmentalists argued that such a task was impossible and impractical, and that allowing a variety of foreign plants to intermingle would trigger unforseen and possibly dangerous mutations. Despite all this the Oriee family went ahead with their project and in the matter of two decades more than 60% of the planet was covered in luscious green.
At the present day Icorov is covered in over 98% plantlife, with the other remaining surface area filled by rivers and lakes. It is home to nearly two million distinct species of plant, along with over a billion species of animals inhabiting the dense forests. To-date the fears of the other environmental groups have been largely unfounded, but there still exists a level of protest to the project.

Geography

Icorov was originally a relatively flat desert world. Most of the original geography is still the same, only now is covered in plantlife.

Fauna & Flora

With nearly two million species of plant and over a billion species of animal, Icorov is the most diversely-populated planet in the galaxy. The variety of flora ranges from a few hundred varieties of tree to hundreds of thousands of flowering plants.
Nearly half the species of fauna on Icorov are insects. The other half are largely dominated by small birds, rodents, and a handful of previously-endangered mammal and reptile species.

Natural Resources

While the planet didn't contain any valuable resources before the terraforming process, it is now the leading source of oxygen and biofuel in the Tyton empire. At various points across the planet's surface are facilities that collect and process pure oxygen. This oxygen is then sold to starships to fuel life support modules. These modules eventually become saturated with carbon dioxide, and that is returned to Icorov to be dispersed again into the atmosphere.
