Xankadar
Xankadar was a city situated at the mouth of the River Tárvor, almost directly south of the Castle. The river flowed through the city, with part of the city on either bank, as well as some on a large island in the middle of the river. Multiple bridges crossed the river, including the Ruined Bridge, which was damaged in a pirate attack and was never rebuilt.
Xankadar was the nexus of trade in the south of Tílunur, being situated on one of the busiest rivers in the country, and also being by the seaside. The area around the city was flat and easily accessible, allowing caravans to approach from land if preferred to water travel. Several main roads were connected to Xankadar, and they were kept in working order by the Alovo(governer) of the city.
However, Xankadar was not only a trading city, it was also a major industrial settlement. The land around it was rich with precious minerals, and many mines were dug to extract the precious resources from the earth. Clay was also found, and the potters of Xankadar were renowned throughout Tílunur. Jewelry was also crafted there, and Xankadarian jewelry was treasured. Weaponsmiths, armoursmiths, silversmiths, and plain blacksmiths could also be found aplenty in the city, and it was one of the main production centres for the weapons and armour of the realm.
Xankadar was founded in 1306 Third Age, two years after trade started with other lands. It was originally a small hamlet with a harbour, just enough for a few ships to land and transfer goods to a caravan, but as trade grew, the city grew with it, and soon it was one of the largest (and busiest) cities in Tílunur.
In 2764, Tywell, Wëls, Anamí, Triton, and Dakko, as well as the dragons Erythrós, Zivaro, Kildíran, and Chaymryd, visited the city, where they met Rusalye, and there they defeated a witch that would have incited the city against them.
After the Final Shadow War in 2765, Xankadar flourished without Gu B'omarrin Kashar to raid the caravans and trading ships. This 'Golden Age' lasted for three years, ending when the sorcerer Azartius returned to Irëduin. His first attack was swift and strong, decimating Xankadar. After Azartius was vanquished for the final time, Xankadar was rebuilt, only to be permanently destroyed in the Seventh Age by the Deathwatch.
