Kiáron

Kiáron are bipedal creatures similar to dragons. They have wings, scales, can breath fire, and a barb on the end of their tail. They use the claws on the ends of their wings as forefeet, and stand quite low to the ground for their size

History

Kiáron were created by Analkar Dhangoth as the first mockery of dragons. After he took over Idur Gárundir, he created the first kiáron in the deep caverns of the island. As a test, he loosed it on the city of Irador. The kiáron was ultimately shot down, but not before burning the city almost to the ground. Satisfied by this victory, Analkar created an army of kiáron and unleashed them on the world in the Great Offensive of the First Age. However, they were destroyed by the elves, and only a few remained, fleeing to the corners of Irëduin. Over time, there were a few records of encounters with kiáron, but they remained mostly hidden until near the end of the Third Age.   In an example of history repeating itself, a kiáron attacked Irador, only to be killed by Ralthyr Wazavor in a climatic power struggle. However, it also managed to destroy half of the city.

Powers and Capabilities

Kiáron are not capable of magic in the conventional sense, but they are creatures of magic. They can breath fire, and have superior strength to what would normally be common for a creature of their size. The barb on their tail is sharp and can be used as a weapon. They also have bacteria in their mouth that can cause victims of a bite to fall violently ill. Their scales are hard and function as armour, and the bony projections on their head protect their brain from most blows.
