Greaf the Patient – God of the Dead

The Blind PeaceBringer

Death comes to all things in time, and so Greaf is patient. Death comes to all things, be they tree, cat, commoner or king, and in equal measure - so Greaf is blind to the differences. Greaf is without malice and without mercy. These concepts are for the living. She is however, compassionate.   Everyone gives Graef respect, but her temples are not grand. Of all the gods, the temples of Greaf are the most humble. Death is not a time of celebration, nor a time to inspire awe or fear. Her temples are hospices and morgues, graveyards and mausoleums. Her worshipers are mourners, councilors and morticians.   People come to Graef in mourning, in times of extreme sadness and greif, in times of tragedy and trauma. Her temples are staffed by those prepared for the burdens of those who come, and all will find someone who will talk them through their terrible time. And indeed, everyone comes, for legends tell of those who have told their stories to a cleric of Graef, and moved her such that their loved one was returned to them.

Clergy

Clergy of Greaf come form all classes, all races and all genders. To receive ordination, one must understand the pain of those one serves - so one must have lost a parent or child to death.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The color of Greaf's clergy is grey with black trim. Somber without being terrifying in its own right. The emblem they wear is a rose, a promise made by Beran to Greaf, that from death, comes life.

Tenets of Faith

*In death, equality - It matters not how wealthy or powerful you were when you died, you come before Greaf for judgement as any other being. *Respect the Cycle - Necromancy is not for mortals. Destroy necromancers where you find them.
