Ellendaed - Goddess of Valor
Chain breaker
When in the temples and chaples of Ellendaed, one gets a very different view of war than when one visits Draeor the Red's houses of worship. There is no glory in war for Ellendaed. War, battle and conflict are to be enaged in only when all other possibilities have been extinguished. "Kill not if you may wound. Wound not if you may incapacitate. Incapacitate not if you may pacify. Our minds can make allies of enemies and friends of foes. A weapon can only make corpses." This litany is drilled into every worshiper of Ellendaed and those who would seek her blessing. The part that is left unspoken... is that if someone forces conflict, there is to be no mercy. No hesitation. In defense, there is valor. In defense, there is honor. The temples of Ellendaed lionize those who defend those who cannot defend themselves. They honor those who free slaves and topple tyrants.Clergy
The Ordained Clergy of Ellendaed are drawn exclusively from warriors. This is not to say that one must be a soldier or fighter. The Clergy of Ellendaed recognize that not all battles are fought with knives and steel. Thus it is that one might find a woman who was victim of domestic abuse as a Cleric of Ellendaed, or a child who was brutally bullied as an Acolyte in her temple.Divine Symbols & Sigils
Silver and Black are the colors of this religion. The symbol is a length of chain, the center link broken open. Many adherents of this religion wear a lenght of black chain somewhere on their person.
