March of the Specters
On the eve immediately following a funeral, local legends in the Scepter say that the specters of the dead travel from their resting grounds to the fresh grave of the recently buried.
Participants
The March of the Specters is a superstition belonging to no specific religion or pantheon, though the scholars at The College at Garden Hill and The Priests of Passage disagree with the basic premise, believing the whole of the dead would be unlikely to pay homage to every unexceptional passing of every nameless pauper in the Scepter.
Observance
This is a common superstition among graverobbers and bandits, as they believe the best time to rob a supposedly haunted hall, grave, or ruin is on the night following a funeral, because, as lore tells, the specters will have all abandoned their posts to greet the new dead and take them into the afterlife.
