Amnenbloom

A golden-yellow flower found in various patches on the east-southern regions, as well as small parts of Fraywood. Except where intentionally cultivated, the flower seems to grow rather rarely in most areas, but it's considered a valuable asset when it can be found in the wild, as its petals can be combined with the much more common veris root to form a potent healing salve. While it's no magic potion, it can supplement the bandages or medicines commonly found in a healer's kit, or even replace them for certain kinds of injuries.   They're also used in certain teas, which are also claimed to have restorative effects, though these are far less well-documented. In particular, Southsea sailors tend to keep stores in dried petals on their ships as the tea is commonly thought to help with seasickness. Southseas nobles also often use them in tea with lavenberries, a tea considered to be calming and relaxing.   Outside of Southsea, a flower or two is often kept in the medicinal gardens of river elves, who have imported the seeds from southsea after hearing reports of their medicinal qualities. Despite not being native to the area, they tend to grow quite well in the more mild-temperatured areas of the west, where the majority of river elves dwell.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Once fully grown, amnenbloom is taller than most other flowers found in the same areas, at the flower itself is rather large and fanned-out. Combined with its bright color, typically makes it rather easy to spot.   At younger stages, the flower is much more difficult to identify. The four large leaves that spread out around the base of the stem grow before the flowering bud, which then takes a while to bloom. The exact shape on the leaves and the subtle orange tint of the bud are the only clear ways to identify the flower before it blooms, though most of its used require fully bloomed petals in any case.
