Kosmos: Part II
The planet at night is silent and bright,
Smiled upon by the billions of skylights.
Yashgat and Atsumen dismount the ship,
Muav staying behind, armed with his whip.
They are in Aphrike, ear-shaped hotland,
In a place where no people can be found,
Except for shapes moving across the lakes,
Watching them with wooden swords and stone stakes.
They emerge slowly, of humanoid form,
With a scent of camphor and burned rose balm.
Heads of octopi with six bulging eyes,
Like lamps of green fire mapping their size.
Wings like bats sprout from their rubbery backs,
And their faience-blue skin is lined with cracks.
On their chests the symbol of Cancer carved,
To show their devotion to lord Uqhrat.
Moonchildren. The Servants of the Crab God.
Their leader steps forward with a curt nod.
'Speak your case, strangers.' His name is Aqham.
'We've come to stop Vovin from causing harm.
He's been spotted on Earth, walking with men.'
'We have no friendship with nutt-gboyen.'
He turns back smugly, ignoring their noise.
'But Vovin is not just one nutt-gboi.
He is dangerous to us and all life.'
'And you cast him down here, one of your kind.'
Qharik, his first son, watches silently.
They make one last request to his hati:
'If you help us trace him, we'll take you back.
The science he uses is hard to track.'
The Moonchild stops. His interest is peaked.
Return to Yahabomek's world he seeks.
Long ago they lived with nutt-gboyen,
Until they rebelled and to Earth were sent.
If they take them back, his sons will be free,
No longer bound to Pudma's earthly seas.
'We will help as best we can.' So they plan.
General Zalaqh will lead a hunting camp,
While the two and Aqham leave for Traablus
Where Vovin was last seen by informants.
The modern human world is filled with ways
To mask oneself from an unwanted gaze.
But Yashgat and his friend are set to find
And soon defeat this evil mastermind.
The continuation of our heroes on a doomed quest, joining forces with the Moonchildren to find and stop Vovin.
