Alterun, the spirit realm.

Alterum is the place where spirits go when they die. The realm is a place where all people are transformed into animals and plants based on how they lived their life in the material plane. People who lived good lives or stayed loyal to the gods are transformed into an animal that represented them in life. People who lived average lives without doing any particularity good deeds or not worshiping any one god in particular are transformed into a plant or given a second chance to be reborn to do better. People who did evil and such are turned into wild beasts and behave as such. People who worship different gods can expect some sort of support in the afterlife from that god to be transformed into a more prestigious spirit animal.

Geography

The spirit realm is divided into seemingly impossible biomes. Going from a forest jungle to a desert sand in an instant and without transition. The land has rolling hills, flat grass lands, tough underbrush, large lakes and sparkling seas, all under a night sky, where light is provided by the lush plants graceful stars and a wondrous sun by day. All manner of creatures and insects live in this world, ranging from tiny rabbits to majestic dragons.

Fauna & Flora

The floral and fauna is a lot like the material plane, plants of the same species can be found here. But more plants with stage and wonderful shapes and colors can be found here. Plants and trees can grow up to 3 miles or more in this momentousness world and animals the size of mountains roam the world feeding on the spiritual water that exists in this dream-like dimension.

Natural Resources

The only real natural resource is the spirit water, floral and plants, and rock that exist in this realm. Spirit water is a light glowing blue in color, crystal clear to the touch and rejuvenating to drink. The water is exceptionally rare and is considered the best healing potion/holy water there is. However only worshipers of Delth gain access of this water through the various funeral rituals exclusive to the worship of this god.
