Salloa Oster

Salloa Oster is a young, fecund man; with seven children at twenty five years old, he now spends most of his time avoiding his wife by mining in the Gap and attending Progress Association committee meetings. Constantly optimistic, Salloa is a true believer in the potential of progress, and he isn't afraid to take action to make his dreams a reality. Known to all of the miners as an incredibly hard worker (which even Thay Allal begrudgingly admits), Salloah has started the practice of shoring up passages during operations, ensuring that progress isn't blocked by collapsing rock after bits of wall are completely removed.   While this sounds like a simple decision, the history of mining in the Gap includes stories of dozens of passages sealed off by rock falls, forever cutting off large amounts of synth. Salloah also started the practice of cutting synth down into consistent, standard sizes for sale, which has vastly increased the profit of the miners.   These simple decisions combined with a strong work ethic and outgoing personality explain why the Progress Association continues to nominate Salloa for chairman every year.
