Davala Asatu

Davala Asatu is not a miner. He does not cut synth or drag it from the ground or organize it or sell it. Davala Asatu is concerned only with the numenera, and he is likely the only resident of Phrygia-by-the-Gap who only descends into the Gap to recover and sell numenera. He only makes a few trips a year, then after the spring thaw he travels the hundreds of miles to Picalah to sell his loot.
He is a member of the Progress Association and sits on several committees, but rarely speaks at them. During the weekly public meetings, he will move to stand next to speakers he disagrees with, and can sometimes make them stop talking just with his physical presence. In private conversations with those he trusts, he will point to his frustration with Thay Allal, who he believes is the primary impediment to Phrygia-by-the-Gap's progress. He resents his annual trip, and believes that there is more than enough wealth in the Gap to entice traders to come here, if only the aldeia would prioritize trade.
