Setting My Sights: This year's focus
I'll be writing for not one, but
two worlds for this WorldEmber, and that should leave me with no shortage of ideas to pull from! My primary focus is going to be on filling in the gaps of my worldbuilding with people, places, and things mentioned throughout my two currently ongoing prose series: Fleeting Harvest, in Malkora, and the Path to Adventure, in Ayun Sovos!
Fleeting Harvest
Malkora's first prose series is officially in the works, and it's going to kickstart some serious rebuilding and rewriting of some of my older content! There are plenty of places to explore and secrets to uncover, and all of that will help me build upon some deep lore in the Kingdom of Arsavela that I simply have not found time to develop previously.
Path to Adventure
I introduced Ayun Sovos with this prose series, with Ebi as its star lead character thus far! Already she has met some lovely denizens of the world, aided them on her path, shared in their foods and crafts, and it's only the beginning! I can't wait to build up more of Brightfield and its bubbly population of pie-loving friends!

Revitalizing Our Metas
My world metas are more or less complete — until after I start smashing through some words throughout November and December! Once I start building up more of this lore, I'd love to come back and revise some of these words, but for now, just have a read through and get to know Malkora and Ayun Sovos!

Homepage Refreshers
It's true, I have neglected my homepages for —
*checks watch* — since last year's WE prep, but that's okay! I made sure to do some touch-ups to the navigation panels on Malkora and Ayun Sovos, updating recent articles, and even adding some new variables to make updates simpler in the future.

Wizardry in Action
Throughout the process of updating my homepages, of course I made some CSS tweaks here and there, but I'm not sure how much of a design-focused mood I'm really in this month. I've got too many words on the brain fighting to leave me to think about funny little codes and colors!
However, I have been taking note of some things I'd really like to adjust and fix when the time is right.
World Primer Review
World primers! It took almost six years for Malkora to get its own primer, and I'm hoping that Ayun Sovos gets spared this fate. I'd like to make a goal out of creating a primer for my new world during WorldEmber — but I'll hold off on doing that while it's still prep month.
Working on Malkora's primer during WE last year was a joy! Maybe we'll do that again this year, with my new world.
Reviewing this primer did give me a small checklist for WE updates, though:
These stubs live within my world primer, and desperately need some fresh words and new context — especially since we now have
stories being woven around Arsavela these days!
The Flow of Inspiration

Sharing the Love
Community love and support keeps things bright, even when we struggle to find those shiny new words to put on the page! If you'd like to keep up with my creative endeavors, be sure to give them a follow!
If you don't see the shiny buttons below, it means you're already among the cool folks in the Owlworks cult community!
Stories that Drive Us
I pull most of my inspiration for my creations through the realm of gaming — the grand adventures I've embarked on through games of all kinds stick with me the most (though I have enjoyed plenty of books and movies as well).
Lately, I've been drawing a lot of inspiration from my recent travails through the world of Elden Ring. The pain I have subjected myself to, in my first Soulsborne gaming experience, has been beautifully offset by the stunning and immersive world that has breathed a whole new level of passion for Malkora into me. The crumbling ruins and wild, shattered landscapes feel like something pulled from my own world — and it's going to be fun trying to weave this inspiration into my writing this coming month.
In a stark contrast, my experience with the ongoing Neopets plot has been a big push for Ayun Sovos ideas, and I can't wait to build more of this bright little world! The power of friendship goes a long way when you're fighting big battles!
Community Appreciation
Finding & Joining Communities
Communities filled with friendly nerds and incredible creators are the biggest contributors to my creative journey, in spite of all of the roadbumps and obstacles I've had stand in my way (and there have been so many!). Finding people you vibe with is so important, especially when you're sharing your work and growing as a creator. I have lots of communities to thank for the endless encouragement over the years!
Discord Communities
WorldAnvil Community Server
The World Anvil Discord server is a corner of the internet I love to live in. The challenge discussion chat is my home, and I often pop by to see what people are up to, to read some cool things, and offer up my own creations to read. I love it here!
The Owlworks Community Server
Like many creators in the community, I have my own discord server! Join the Owlworks for a cozy space to share your worldbuilding thoughts, your arts, and other marvelous creations! It's also the best place to get updates from your friendly neighborhood bird (that's me)!
World Anvil Chapters
Seven Tomes
My Tomies have been such a major source of positivity and inspiration, and I'm so happy to have called this chapter home for so many years! Creating is so much brighter when you have a bunch of like-minded friends around you and hold you accountable!
Joining a Chapter
Are you looking to join a chapter yourself? There are quite a few to choose from! Seek out your best match in the World Anvil Discord's info-chapters channel, and send the chapter leader a DM! Getting the process started is that simple.
Bluesky Community
Why Bluesky?
This platform has been an excellent place to share and connect with other creators and friends, and it's quickly becoming my new main social platform outside of Twitch! It's like Twitter, without a lot of the gunk that makes us unhappy on social media.
The WorldAnvil feed
Han made an incredible WorldAnvil Writers feed over on Bluesky that makes it so easy to keep up with the conversations people are having on the platform about their worlds and our platform!
Worldbuilder Starter Packs
Starter packs on Bluesky are wonderful ways to find new people to follow, all united by some common theme. A bunch of us have been creating such packs over on Bluesky — consider requesting to join them if you fit in, or give the users on the lists a follow!

Friend Appreciation
To my cheems
This is a love letter to my cheems, who have been such wonderful influences on my life for the past year — you create such incredible things, and make me feel like such a valuable bean even when I don't feel it myself. You're the best!
To my partners
You cheer for me the loudest when I accomplish the littlest things! All of the love and appreciation gets poured right back into my creativity and I cherish it every day! I live for those moments where you read my work and tell me the little things you enjoyed most. Thank you for being the ones who listen to me ramble about absolute nonsense.
To my creatures
I didn't know what to expect from being on a team of fellow nerds and cryptids, but what I've gotten was love, support, and endless encouragement to keep pushing for the things I love and the goals I want to achieve! You're a bunch of cool peeps and I appreciate you all! Seeing y'all do great things just lights that fire in me, too.
Making Time & Creating Together
Finding time to create is a challenge unlike most others, I feel. That's why I tend to carve out sections of my week purely for creating and being a bit of a productive bee! From streaming to cryptic isolation, there are a few methods I enjoy for making sure things happen.
Typical stream schedule:
Friday — Game time!
2PM EST (-5GMT)
Saturday — Coworking & Creating!
2PM EST (-5GMT)
*Additional pop-up streams are always possible! We have lots to do ths month!
More friends!
We have plenty of other streamers in the community — keep an eye out for them, and you might just find your new favorite writing buddies!
If you're streaming WorldEmber-related content during the month, let me know!
I'm super excited to see what you have in store for WorldEmber!! <33
I'm excited, too!! I have lots to plan for, so the next two months are just busy busy times for writing!
