The Ascended, or Council of the Ascended, is a conglomerate pantheon comprised of deities which once walked Malkora as mortal champions of the gods.

Among the Ascended

Numerous subgroups exist within the Council, with new Ascended gods and their individual pantheons appearing throughout history. These gods vary greatly in their global influence, but are largely considered minor deities in the divine hierarchy; Ascended typically demonstrate lesser metaphysical influence than Malkora's other minor deities, which did not find their divine origins within a mortal life.

Gods of the Common Folk

Champions of the gods are often chosen for their strongest qualities, which become elevated and amplified through their service. When such champions are granted ascension, these qualities become their primary domains, through which they guide the mortals who yet walk Malkora.
Thus, ascended domains are often quite simple. Embodying the intrinsic traits commonly found in humanity, the Ascended are often viewed as far more relatable to the common folk, and are most often prayed to for everyday guidance and aid.

The Champions of the Dawn were the historical champions of the goddess, Vosra, who led humanity out of the Nameless Era in the New Dawn's light. First of the Ascended, many view the Champions as "heads" of the Council.
