Personal history

Ryōtarō was raised by a single mother in Japan. When she leaned her son was deaf, she immediately started learning sign language so she could understand him. As a result, Ryōtarō was able to communicate from an early age, and never really felt isolated. Ryōtarō grew up in a close knit community, so his main form of communication (using a notebook or finger spelling) was known about and accepted.
When Encryptic was introduced, Ryōtarō was quick to adopt it, and even helped develop a Japanese version of the language.
