The Dragonback Mountains
The Dragonbacks are the tallest of the mountain ranges in the Nine Kingdoms. They have long inspired stories and tales of far off lands, their clouded heights giving birth to myths, monsters, and legends.
Those who live at the feet of those imposing mountains are a proud and hearty folk, toughened by nature, and the supernatural. The creatures who inhabit these peaks are some of the most dangerous on the planet. This mountain range boasts the likes of the Fang and Mount Misery, two of the tallest and most deadly of the Dragonback mountain peaks.
Geography
The geography of the Dragonbacks is impressive because the mountain range is young in terms of history, giving it striking and imposing features that have yet to be softened by the effects of time like other mountain ranges in the world.
The Dragonbacks contain glaciers on all sides, some intersecting and joining with each other and others ebbing and flowing solitarily with the rapid changes in the mountain weather patterns.
The Dragonbacks are the perfect breeding ground for new glaciers as it is a high range and can support consistent glacial formation along the majority of its approximate 1,500 mile length.
At an average width of 100-150 miles wide the Dragonbacks provide an imposing geographical barrier between the northern Plateau of Shiamaash and Dawaroka to the south.
