The Second Watcher Encounter

Soon after new settlements emerged along the borders of the empire, a monarch that had recently been crowned spotted a supernatural entity along a large mountain-like structure. It was the same Watcher that had visited the Cave Stalkers centuries before, which implied that it was interacting with the Cave Stalkers against its brethren's wishes. The monarch was tasked with jobs for the being, and in return, she would receive a gift to benefit her civilization.

The Cave Stalker empire had recently gained a new leader, one that still remains nameless. She had benefited the empire in expanding its settlements close to the borders of what is now the Frozen Wastes, and regularly met with governors of separate states face to face. One day, she was nearly alone on a swim over a trail, when she witnessed a Watcher approach her, and begin using telepathy to communicate with her. The being claimed it could give her species a special gift, but only if it received offerings that only a Cave Stalker could bring.

The Watcher wanted a short rock tower, a wood sculpture, and a member of a domesticated animal species. It also wanted the monarch alone, which was likely difficult when rulers were often flanked by guards when traveling. It is also thought this monarch may have been forced to do what the being said. However, the monarch completed this task and presented the offerings, to which the Watcher took them and disappeared. Soon, the monarch discovered after carving a specific glyph, she could cause it to glow, and it would allow her to speak through it to anyone who stumbled across it.

This specific story survived to be especially detailed among other historical events, for what reason, it is unclear.
