Theen

Theen is the most widely spoken language in Tevhetra. It is the primary language in Nuana, Setre, and the Avantha Kolari, with pockets of speakers in Aphelia and the Southern Garrok Federation. Due to the number of speakers, it is frequently used in international communications and publications. Dialectical differences exist between Theen in different locations but is are mostly mutually intelligible to all speakers.
Theen is a pre-Nightfall language brought by the Elf settlers who founded Nuana. While the language has changed considerably since the Nightfall, Nuanat speakers will maintain that their dialect is the closest to the original and 'purest', much to the annoyance of everyone else, particularly the Setret.

Structural Markers

To make a place into an adjective indicating that something is from it, add the suffix -t or -at depending on if it ends in a vowel or consonant. Examples: Setret, Nuanat, Aphelat, Varenat.
To form a compound word, which are often used in Theen particularly for epithets and names, add -a between the combined words. For example, combining sohn (strange) and sishe (rain) into sohnasishe (strangerain). This includes when the word contains an a sound at the end of the first or start of the second: the a will simply be reemphasized. For example: zeha (blue) combined with prathal (ocean) creates zeha'aprathal. This appears to be a post-Nightfall linguistic development, as many elven species names that are technically compounds forgo any a sound and just combine the two words.
