Minotaur

Princess, I am pleased to report that our interactions with the minotaur are still positive in nature. It has been thirty-six years (at time of writing this letter) since we established trade with these natives to the New World. Their iron, according to our smiths, is of superior quality to the iron found in Lyria.
A few of our more aggressive people have been able to make friends with the minotaur, and were quite willing to part with their knowledge for a few pints.
According to minotaur legend (I'll send that information in another letter), their ancestors were once cultists to Baphomet, one of the lords of the Abyss. He changed them, warping their minds into blood thirsty, cruel savages with the ability to recall any path that they traveled. Supposedly, during the process, a handful of them decided to flee. They escaped with their minds in tact, but their bodies were irrevocably changed.
Today, they are still warlike, raiding who and what they want. However, they do recognize the need for diplomacy and were willing to trade some of their iron for wood for their ships. Further cementing our relationship, some of the have even joined the Guild.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Usually muscular, horns adorn both sexes. Their chests are the only parts free from hair. Anatomically, they are similar to every other sapient species.

Genetics and Reproduction

Minotaur are very open with their mating, so I can confirm that they reproduce in the way of most other humanoids.

Ecology and Habitats

The minotaur occupy an archipelago a few days travel by boat north.

Additional Information

Facial characteristics

It appears that male minotaur possess facial hair.

Average Intelligence

It appears that intelligence among the minotaur is as varied as any other sentient race.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Minotaur do not appear to possess any extrasensory abilities.

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Minotaur take their given names from heroes from their past. Their surnames are usually which island in the archipelago they are from.

Beauty Ideals

It appears that minotaur of both genders view strength as an ideal of beauty.

Gender Ideals

It is not uncommon to see females in with a raiding group. The minotaur also give the same honors they usually give their raiders to women in childbirth, and view dying in childbirth as honorable as dying in battle.

Courtship Ideals

Minotaur don't believe in courtship.

Relationship Ideals

Minotaur appear to believe in open relationships, though the female has ultimate say in whether or not anything becomes of it.

Common Dress Code

Minotaur dress simply, usually forsaking shirts of any kind. When associating with those that aren't minotaur, the females have taken to wearing soft leather brassieres. Apparently the looks they got from some of the men in Shanaran staring at their breasts was enough to make their elders force them to do it to maintain the alliance. I can attest, since I know you will ask Princess, that they have two breasts and nipples.
