The age of myth is over and with every generation that passes more and more forget the origins of the cosmos. Long ago mighty higher beings, gods, elemental overlords, demon-lords, archon queens and the like not only created the cosmos they RAN it. But in the distant past a cataclysm occurred that destroyed the gods and their ilk. Now we have inherited the cosmos. And we truly pale in comparison to our predecessors.

The Multiverse is the name of the setting in which A Solitary God In A Dark Multiverse takes place. A Solitary God In A Dark Multiverse is a dark, epic, multiverse-spanning fantasy story readable for free on various websites where authors can publish their own stories.
The story itself revolves around the last god in existence: Althos, a god who arose via a parentless miraculous birth in a small and unremarkable world and who aspires to create an empire that spans the entire multiverse while also becoming omnipotent and omniscient. Humble goals for a humble eldritch nightmare. 
A Solitary God, or A.S.G. as it will be referred to from here on out, is a fantasy story from the point of view of a young god. The main character is a curious creature who aspires to gain more power as the setting's inner workings don't merely allow him to do anything he wants from the moment he was born. He has to grow in maturity, create cults, lead man and monster alike, and face a variety of obstacles before he can eventually become the multiverse-ruling emperor and omniscient god he seeks to become. 
The setting of the story is pretty dark and it is a wide, living multiverse that is filled with complex and morally grey civilizations, empires, and settlements. Demons lurk in darkened dimensions of hate and chaos, devils lie in wait to exploit vulnerabilities across existence and expand their infernal empire across the multiverse, dragons lurk atop mountains and in the darkest depths of the seas. And Althos wants to rule them all, and be worshiped by everyone.

The purpose of the World-Anvil site is to introduce readers to the story and create a living encyclopedia that documents various things about the story. The story is an epic-in-scale fantasy story with detailed lore, significant history, and lots of in-universe terms that to outsiders might look difficult to understand. I'm hoping that this site allows me to explain the terms better than I might be able to in-universe.
I, the author of both the World-Anvil site and the story itself, am hoping that running this World-Anvil site helps me get new readers and allows me to expand the setting I am creating in ways that are inaccessible or difficult for straight-narrative stories to do. I am an avid fan of D&D, Pathfinder, and other role-playing games and I hope that the story I am creating inspires roleplayers and helps readers become roleplayers in time. This site allows me to connect with roleplayers as well as have space where I can discuss how to incorporate elements and ideas from my story into roleplaying games in a variety of settings and systems.
