Ten'no, "Mantis Lords"

The Ten'no, or "Mantis Lords" are the toughest, biggest and most powerful among all of demon-kind, taking role as commanders and emperors of the demonic factions.
The different regions of hell have several factions, each led by a mantis lord, though the rule of a Ten'no is never absolute. A mantis lord must constantly work and fight to keep forces under their control, as rebellion and anarchy is a non-stop issue; If one demon rises up and kills or dethrones a lord, they become the mantis, until another takes their place.

Though the 'Mantis Lord' is a title, not a species of demon, when a demon is bestowed the title, they undergo a metamorphosis. They grow a large head crest, like a form of crown; their eyes grow into large ovals, decorated with runic patterning; large, ornate wings will accompany these changes, unless the demon already possessed wings, in which case they will simply become larger and more ornate; golden patterning is inlayed upon the carapace of the demon, and their stature will change to closer resemble that of a regal mantis, even growing entire new sets of limbs.
