Kothar-Born

Little is known about Kothar, even to outsiders. Apparently, the now barren land was once home to the most fearsome of dragons, but years of battle and strife has reshaped the landscape, with dust and ruins where once towns thrived. Some small communities still exist though, one of which you were born into. There is something about Kothar-born that other nations find strange; in truth there are things that you can’t explain about yourself. It could be a particular birth mark, a mysterious scar, or a skin tone that is uncommon for your race – and you can’t ignore the magical gifts you’ve been born with. Are you looking for answers about your ancestry, or searching for the parents that abandoned you? Are you seeking better understanding of the arcane, and the gifts you were blessed with? Or are you on the trail of the Red Mages, a mysterious group that seem to have taken a particular interest in the region?
Skill Proficiencies: Arcana, Intimidation
Languages: Draconic, Infernal (or two of your choice if known)
Equipment: a staff, an unusual trinket, 5 candles, a small knife, a set of common clothes, and a belt pouch containing 10gp.
Feature: Unexplained Gifts – since you were born, you have had an affinity with magic, it seems to embody you, allowing you abilities which others would train and practice for years to achieve. You know the cantrip Prestidigitation, and can cast it with a thought, without the need of the somatic or verbal components. It is still an action to cast, and all the other elements of the spell are the same (it is comparable to being cast with the Subtle Spell from the Sorcerer class Metamagic list).
