Festir

God of Plenty

Life Domain

“We only get to choose because of the abundance we have before us. Of flora, of fauna, of civilisation. Life is everywhere – a gift straight out of Festir’s Haversack!” – Burakrin Priest.   Popular with both the highest nobles and the lowest labourers in equal measure, Festir is a god of the people. Often depicted as an overly rotund halfling carrying a haversack, it is believed Festir is the embodiment of joy in living. His haversack is believed to have been the first ever Bag of Holding, and from it he fed the entire world with grape and grain, making sure none went hungry. He is believed to have also sired many children, with virility also believed to be a gift from Festir. It is not uncommon for those struggling to have children to seek blessings from Festir at a temple – many even create shrines in their own homes.   The official symbol of Festir is a wheatsheaf with stars shining above. The wheatsheaf is a symbol of bountiful life, and a good harvest, whilst the stars represent Festir himself, watching over from afar. The number of stars above vary, and it is sometimes said that the other stars represent Festir’s many children – though others speculate they represent the nations Festir helped create.
