Ellusha

Goddess of Hijinks

Trickery Domain

“Don’t play the Ellusha with me!” – common saying.   The goody two-shoe image of gods is often disparaged by the mere mention of Ellusha – often considered the antithesis of what it means to be godly. Ellusha is popular amongst the pranksters, jokers and charlatans of society, making her somewhat on the fringe of the most devout followers of The Eight. It is believed that she was born of the union between the sun and moon, and able to mask herself whenever either was present in the sky. Because of her mischievous nature, it is often speculated that she was a gnomish girl, though with her penchant for disguise and changing shape, her true form is unknown. The only common trait when describing Ellusha was her locket, believed to sometimes appear as a moon, and other times as a sun – showing the duality of her character.   Ellusha’s official symbol is a crescent moon combined with the sun, with human eyes, nose and mouth superimposed over it. Reflective of her secretive nature, it is believed the moon face represents her most severe japery, which would be carried out under cover of darkness, whilst the sun face represents the lighter side of her tomfoolery. Those who openly follow Ellusha are often second-guessed by authoritative figures, believing them to, like their deity, to be up to no good.
