Syrdarya

A world discovered in 2122 thru Earth, and inhabited in 2125. Syrdarya was the first world reached by humanity through the Paths of the Dead. Its discovery proved the correctness and immense worth of those Pathways.
Syrdarya is the only planet in the system of a very Earthsun-like star; the system also has two belts of asteroids, one sunward and the other voidward of the planet. (See directions.)
Syrdarya is not a very hospitable world, and has no distinction save its primacy.

First or second?

The first permanent human inhabitants of Syrdarya arrived in 2125. (They are at times called "colonists" or "settlers" but both words were out of use at the time, as they were regarded as grossly offensive.) The world of Tunguska, later discovered, had received its permanent inhabitance in the previous year of 2124; thus whether Syrdarya was "the first new home" depends on whether one counts the 2122 pre-colony or not. Regardless, Syrdarya is at the very least the second new inhabited world, but that is a title its inhabitants do not particularly want.
