Canvas

Canvas began as nothingness, an infinite expanse of possibility, with emptiness filling that infinity. Then the three Prime Gods arose, and wanted to shape Canvas into something more. For eons, Red, Blue, and Yellow worked tirelessly, painting the foundation of existence.   Red painted the land, the hills, and the mountains. Shades of red, brown, gold, and grey covered Canvas. He shaped the land with canyons, hills, mountains, and vast plateaus. Satisfied, he turned to Blue, who painted the waters. Her oceans covered the lower lands, spilling into rivers and lakes as it flowed through the land that Red had painted, eroding the stone and the soil. The clear, blue water slowly settled, and Blue was satisfied. Finally, yellow painted a mighty spear of brilliant oranges, yellows, and reds, and with as much force as he could muster, threw it as far into the sky as he could. It burst into a magnificent splash of light and heat, shining down upon Canvas, and Yellow was satisfied.   The Secondary Gods wasted no time, eager to add to the works the Prime Gods had created. Orange painted the wind and the sky, curious to see how it would interact with the land, the water, and the light. He marveled at the strong gusts of wind, the rain, and different atmospheres it created, and he was satisfied. Green painted the flora, covering Canvas in grasses and flowers, hoping to fill Canvas with more energy and color. He painted mighty trees, and covered the land in forests. He painted sturdy cacti, and filled the hot and dry patches with them. He painted mighty vines and flowers, and covered as much land as he could with them, and he was satisfied. Finally, Violet painted the fauna, filling Canvas with animals of all different shapes and varieties. She filled the air with birds and blanketed the ground with herds and packs of animals. She spread colonies of insects everywhere, and she was satisfied.   But not all good things are to last. The twins, Tint and Shade, did everything they could to destroy the works of the gods. They created the Badlands, the remnants of their massacre. This is a land where color is corrupted, blackened, and shaded. The few living things that still remain are twisted in horrible abominations. The air itself is toxic, and the plants are hungry for flesh. Beyond the Badlands is the Void, the work of Tint, where nothing but Void can exist. All color simply evaporates.
