The Reflowering

Revolution

-

The combined efforts of the Grand Marquisate of Helwin, the Confederation of Woîjne, the Kingdom of Sasila, and the remnants of the Verdant Druids in exile finally beat back the hordes of Veralke of Vistron to recapture Xa.

The Gashir began with Helwin and Woîjne firmly on the side of good and Sasila so far neutral due to the interference of the Thousand-Year Debaters. When time stopped, Veralke took the opportunity to strike at the Confederation, knowing that he had never attacked them with his undead armies previously.   The Ijneans were able to hold off the invasion long enough for the Helwiners to sneak a group of adventurers, the Helwin Seven, into the ruins of the Flowering City, where they located the secret to Veralke's long life: a dark ring which he had stored his life force into with evil magic. The group stole the ring and threw it into an ocean trench, shattering its connection to Veralke and leaving him vulnerable.   Following this, the armies of recently-freed Sasila and Helwin invaded the region, systematically decimating the hordes of undead monsters. It wasn't long before they were in the city itself, slowly blocking streets and reclaiming shops and parks.   When everything seemed close to ending, Veralke himself arrived in front of the bone-covered tower that sat in the place where the Quilted Tower had once stood, and the tower itself began to haemorrhage undead minions to fight for him. Before they could overwhelm the armies, the tower shattered into a fine dust as the Quilted Tower reappeared, the Druids immediately going into the thick of the battle.   Veralke died in the destruction of the bone tower, and the undead followed not long afterwards. Within moments, the assembled peoples of western Renath watched as the dark shadows of the city faded, the grass turned green, and millions of flowers burst from between the cobblestones. The city of Xa, once a wasteland, flowered once again.
