Stat Block: Goliath
At the highest mountain peaks — far above the slopes where trees grow and where the air is thin and the frigid winds howl — dwell the reclusive goliaths. Few folk can claim to have seen a goliath, and fewer still can claim friendship with them. Goliaths wander a bleak realm of rock, wind, and cold. Their bodies look as if they are carved from mountain stone and give them great physical power. Their spirits take after the wandering wind, making them nomads who wander from peak to peak. Their hearts are infused with the cold regard of their frigid realm, leaving each goliath with the responsibility to earn a place in the tribe or die trying.
There is always work for brute strength wherever you go, and Goliaths have that covered. They follow the coin and a lot of “coin” says “stay here and look menacing” or “if those pirates board rip their arms off” or other similar things employers need done around the Maelstrom Isles.ability score increase:

Appearance
- Goliaths descended from Stone Giants and tower over other races at an average of seven-and-a-half feet tall.
- Though hair does grow on their face and head, it grows incredibly slowly and most males prefer to just keep it shaved. It is also common for females to keep their head shaved, though in their case it grows just slightly slower than the normal rate. Goliath hair is very coarse and thick, and really only comes in browns, grays, black and white.
- Goliath skin color normally matches the stone in the location that their tribe has hailed from. Gray skin is most common though many shades of brown and red are seen in desert climates.
- Goliath eye colors are cold and dark, similar to their skin tones, usually browns and grays.
Homeland
Goliaths are a tribal people that live among the mountains and hills, their tribes are not big because most often contention among them causes them to split off into new tribes before they grow very large. Though they are all unified in some small way through their religion. Some Goliaths have split from their tribes for a variety of different reasons. A tribe’s spiritual leader may receive a vision that requires one of the strong in the tribe to go out into the world in search of something. However it is more common that a Goliath will leave because of contention with others in the tribe.Religion
Goliaths believe in and worship the spirits of their Ancestors, who they believe manifest as great beasts. They build mighty totems and wear sigils to remember them and for the strength they provide. They have religious sites, where no violence is allowed, that all the different tribes visit. These sites are secret to all but their spiritual leaders.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
